Halloween Costumes… or Lack Thereof

This last week has been absolutely hectic. Thank goodness it’s Friday tomorrow, because that means it’s nearly Saturday and on Saturday I get to sleep in! No alarm, no waking up in the dark and fumbling around for my clothes while trying not to wake up Phill, no walking in the freezing cold to work – nope, I get to stay in my lovely warm bed, with my lovely warm boyfriend and sleep sleep SLEEP! until I am satisfied and rested.

Work is going really well – I’m very busy but I’m enjoying it. It’s my first “real” job and I feel very professional. I spoke with my boss today and she gave me some really positive feedback and told me that they want me there long-term, so it seems like my contract is going to be for a while. I’m glad because I like the company and the people and I feel I am settling in really well. Tomorrow is a special Halloween feast for lunch and I hope that I am not too busy to join in, because it sounds like it’s going to be fun! They’re encouraging us to all come dressed up, but… well, I’m not exactly prepared for Halloween. At. All.

It’s this weekend and I am pretty ashamed to admit that I have done nothing about getting a costume. I thought I’d really get into it since our friends are big Halloween fans, but so far I’ve lazily browsed a couple  online costume stores (which, of course, won’t deliver in time anyway, so why am I bothering?) and that’s about it. I just can’t seem to get in the Halloween spirit! My friends are keen for us to go out this weekend so I definitely have to get some sort of costume, because apparently it’s lame to go out sans costume on Halloween. I’m thinking something simple and inexpensive.

But what?

Any ideas? I’m stuck!

A Movie Theatre Floor! … You get one of the BIG black trash bags and cut holes for your head and arms. Stick on used chewing gum, old wrappers, straws, candy boxes, cup lids, etc.

Add some big floppy hat and get a little face make-up and there you go!

Or – go to one of the discount party stores and buy a goofy mask of something and dress casual! A witches hat and lots of fake hair is a good addition. (Save the Snickers for me!)

Just dress up like a witch maybe? or vampire… hehe~

P.S. Happy Halloween to you!

Rabbits’ Guy – The movie theatre floor is an excellent idea! I love it!

Christina – I’ve done witch before but not vampire! Happy Halloween to you too!
