A byootaful Life

Firstly, I wanted to say thank you for all your lovely comments on my previous post. It was pretty hard writing it because I think I’ve been forcing those thoughts into the back of my mind – it’s easier to deal with if I’m not exactly thinking about it. I’ve heard back from Puddy’s new family, who say she is settling in well and is following them around like a little puppy. They live near train tracks, so Puddy is still not sure of what to think of the loud noises the trains make, but she’ll get used to that. She’s never liked loud noises – she’d always run upstairs and hide when she heard the garbage truck coming down the street, or if the wind blew too loudly (yes, seriously).

I’m glad to hear that Puddy is settling in well and getting familiar with her surroundings. I’ve been extended an offer to go visit Puddy before I leave, but I’m undecided (as horrible as that sounds!). On one hand I would love to go and see her again, play with her and cuddle her BUT on the other hand, I have to think about what that would do to Puddy. Would it confuse her? Make her think I am back again, only to have me disappear once more? Would it get her hopes up, only to be let down again? Perhaps it’s best to just let her be and let her get comfortable and happy, and just miss her from afar?

I really appreciate any thoughts you guys have on this. Do you think I should go visit her, or do you think me visiting her might be detrimental to the whole process?

I’m trying to think with my head on this one, but my heart is being very loud and annoying!
