Officially 24 Years Old
Yesterday I turned 24 and I’m thrilled because 24 is my favourite number.
I had a nice day yesterday – woke up early and then woke Phill up with squeals of “IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!!”. I opened presents while still in bed, then Phill headed off to work and I lazed about for a while. I went to work at 12pm and at 1:15pm I was sent home sick (I’ve been fighting the tail-end of a nasty cold for the last week and a half, and my sudden cough explosions aren’t exactly customer-friendly) so I came home to the air conditioning and did some more lazing about. Phill got home at 5pm and we went out to dinner at a Japanese restaraunt, then came home and watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which was quite funny (gotta love Anna Faris, even in cartoon-form).
It was a nice, relaxing day – quite a contrast to today!
This morning I went to the shops to tackle a small grocery shop, then to get the remaining presents I need to buy for Christmas, figuring it would be quieter today than on the weekend. Ha! Not so! The crowds were crazy! I think many sales started today, so everyone was eager to get reduced presents. At least the shops had almost every register open, which was something I’ve never seen before, so the queues moved quickly. I picked up a few more presents and then headed home … at about 2pm. I literally spent about 5 hours at the shopping centre today!
Which is why I have collapsed onto the couch now and am about to turn on a comedy movie to give me a bit of stress-relief. I think I am just about done with Christmas presents and today I actually allowed myself to buy something for myself – a pair of silver ball stud earrings, for a whopping $7. It felt strange to buy something that wasn’t going to be given as a gif.! I absolutely love giving presents and it’s sometimes hard to stop buying for people.

Sounds like you had a nice birthday yesterday. I am glad to hear it was a good one. I will have to check out the movie you mentioned- I have not heard of it.
The shopping crowds sound intense- I guess things are not as obvious here firstly because it is always kind of crowded where I am and secondly because Christmas is not really celebrated although they do do a nice job decorating the department stores.

Lulu – The movie is quite good, with some laugh-out-loud moments, and LOTS of food! I’m waiting with excitement to hear about Goma-chan … any day now!
Happy Birthday, Katie!
Mom loves to give presents too but this year she’s awfully late with everything – and a bit broke too. ; ) Those earrings sound like a nice present for yourself.
Happy days!

Happy Birthday for yesterday
Hope you get over your cold too – I’ve managed to pick one up myself in the last few days so now exactly how bad they feel

Cat with a Garden – Christmas always makes me broke too – sometimes it’s hard to know where to draw the line when it comes to spending money on people. This year we’re buying presents for three different families – it’s an expensive one!
Scott T – Mine was particularly nasty and I spent two and a half days in bed, unable to do much other than drink water and sleep. I hope yours isn’t too bad and you recover quickly – it’s not fun being sick at Christmas (or on your birthday, in my case!)
Happy belated birthday!

Happy late birthday Katie! Isn’t being a Sagittarian great? I see you share the love of the camera as well. Life really is byootaful!. Hope you enjoyed your day and that you are feeling better. Just keep celebrating your birthday right through Christmas. That’s what I love about a December birthday!

Sagittarian – gad I had forgotten – we are sagittarians. Generally clueless about most other people but it doesn’t matter since they are pretty much wrong.

Daisy – Thank you for the birthday wishes!
Beau Beau and Angie – I love being a Sagittarius! I do see December as the “celebration” month (including New Years!) so it’s got some good points, being born in December. Thanks for popping by!
Rabbits’ Guy – Yup I am Sagittarius. Sometimes it’s spot on, sometimes it’s not – I don’t believe in horoscopes, but I do feel like I fit my star sign.
Happy belated birthday, Katie! I remember when I was 24… Haha… I don’t really. After 21, it’s all the same to me.
I hope you feel better soon and stay out of the malls as much as possible! Bad for your health and purse.

Christina – Thank you!
Adrina – It’s okay, thanks for the birthday wishes! Phill and I have a lot of older friends and they couldn’t believe it when I said I was 24, they think I’m a youngin’! (Maybe I look older?)
A belated happy birthday to you!
