Yes, it’s a Cat. In a Box. What Else is New?
I don’t know what it is about cats and boxes, but they’ll practically rip your face off to get into one! Phill and I had literally just removed beer from a carton when Puddy came skidding into the room and jumped head-first into the box, disappearing beneath the flaps. Amused, I crept closer and peered inside … and this is what I saw:
Freaky eyes of mischief staring up at me, no doubt hoping I’ll dare to get close enough to be within scratching distance!
Seriously though – try walking your fingers along the edge of the opening there and you might just lose them. Puddy leaps out of the box, claws grabbing, fur bristling – it’s rather scary sometimes, but fun too. I end up with a few scratches but they’re worth it.
I wonder why cats love boxes so much?

I don’t know why cats love boxes so much, but we have a black kitty named Chloe who looks so much like your kitty and she loves boxes too. Whenever we get something and pull it out of the box, she’ll immediately leap into the empty box.
We have two more kitties, an orange cat named Kiki and a grey striped cat named Baby. Kiki will occasionally jump into a box, but Baby isn’t the box type. She loves baskets, cupboards, and dresser drawers though.

The Bunns – Oh, of course! Perhaps it is not an issue purely experienced with cats, but bunns as well!
Jennifer – Chloe sounds like a very cute cat! I know the feeling – Puddy often prefers to play with the box things came in, rather than the actual toys!
Cats do love boxes don’t they? My brother, he was a black kitty just like Puddy, and he LOVED boxes! Big or little, he had to be in it. His favorite was a small shirt box which he barely fit it, and he could be in it all day. I like the laundry basket with clean clothes in it

Kitikata – I love seeing them trying to squeeze into teeny boxes – it’s like an obessive compulsive thing!
Carri Ann – I love that site … I think Puddy definitely would fit in there, some of the crazy things she does are hilarious!
