Introducing Isha

No, Phill and I didn’t get another cat. We’d like to, but we think Puddy would attempt to eat it, so it’s a no-no. We’re not even getting a dog while we’ve got Puddy because honestly? I can’t deal with the stress that would be involved in getting them to tolerate each other. Or rather, getting Puddy to tolerate the dog. Don’t get me wrong – Puddy is adorable when she’s around us, but she has huge abandonment issues and is very over-protective of us. Sharing us would be the ultimate horror to her. Yeah, if she was a human she’d be in therapy.

So anyway – who is Isha? Isha, pronounced “Eee-sha”, is a gorgeous white fluffy cat belonging to Phill’s Dad and his family. I met Isha on Saturday when we went to a BBQ at their house. She’s an indoor cat because she’s white and the Aussie sun is harsh, but she’s got enough toys and cat trees to sink a battleship, so I’m pretty sure she doesn’t get bored. She’s also got two rather hyperactive teenagers to keep her entertained and yes, she does still play like a kitten … when she feels like it!

Isha

Isha’s nose is pink and cute, and her tail is very fluffy – two things that are completely different from Puddy. She’s very independent and hates pats, which is why we were very surprised when she came over to the couch and propped her front paws up on my leg and allowed me to give her a pat. We were even more surprised when Isha jumped onto my lap, but then she quickly took off to her bed and started cleaning herself. Perhaps she’d realised I wasn’t going to let her outside and that’s the only reason she’d been sucking up to me.

Isha's Fluffy Tail

I wondered if I’d brought Puddy along, how they would have interacted. They both had very similar personalities and that made me think they might clash – but I’d love to see them together as polar opposites!

Isha

I kept looking at that cute little pink nose! Photographing Puddy is fun, but I really enjoyed meeting and photographing another cat, just for something different! No doubt we’ll be seeing Isha again and hopefully next time I will remember to take my camera and won’t have to rely on Phill’s iPhone (hence the photo quality).

That’s one pretty cat! If you bring Puddy to see Isha, could you bring a video camera to record them chasing each other around the house? Make sure you give the vet a heads up too. :P

  2. Isha is a beauty! I’ll bet Puddy would eventually tolerate another cat, but it can take a very long and slow introductory period to get them used to each other.

  3. Isha is gorgeous! It is always fun to meet other cats our mom says. We made her swear that she’s always happy to return to us though…

Salihan – I’m not sure how much video I’d get – I’d have to throw it away to run after them to stop the fights, I’m sure! :P

Daisy – I agree with you! I think Puddy would love a friend, but it would take too long to get them to like each other – and I simply don’t have the time right now to be patient with it.

Cat with a Garden – Your mum will always come back to you – you guys are just too adorable! :)

Oh this white kitty is just very purrty! She looks like the complete opposite of Puddy. Too bad she doesn’t like to be petted, her fur is so luscious, and beckons to be petted.

Kitikata – I know, right? Her fur is so long and fluffy I could pat her all day, but as soon as you let her go, she races off to lick herself clean, like you’ve contaminated her!
