WCB: Evidence My Cat is Crazy
Every single day, Phill and I are confronted with evidence that our cat is completely and utterly crazy, but as soon as a visitor arrives, she drops the manic act and appears relatively normal – purring, snuggling and sleeping, with no suspicious behaviour at all. This is frustrating because it sometimes makes us feel like we are the crazy ones.
However, I recently got some photographic evidence that Puddy is indeed crazy and I would like to share that with you.
Photographic Evidence #1:

Yes, that is Puddy hugging her scratching post. She was kicking the living hell out of it, then suddenly lunged forward and wrapped her arms around it … and stayed there. I slowly inched towards the camera as she watched me, and managed to get a photo before she pushed away from it and began to attack the carpet next to it.
I knew she recently has started loving her scratching post, but I didn’t know she loved it that much!
Photographic Evidence #2:

Every night without fail, Puddy experiences a 5-minute ‘crazy episode’ where she dashes across the room, jumping on the chairs and racing under the dining room table, bunny-kicks her carpet toy and bolts up and down the staircase, before disappearing into the laundry to poop. Don’t ask me why she does it, she just does.
Anyway, last night Puddy was having this “moment” and we, of course, were ignoring it, when all of a sudden we heard a thump, then a timid meow. That’s never a good sign, so we went to investigate … and found Puddy sheepishly looking up at us from behind the water cooler, sandwiched between the piano and the fridge.
I have no idea how she managed to fall down there, but it was pretty funny. She was rather disgruntled when she realised I wasn’t going to help her out, but rather I was going to stand there and take some embarrassing photos for use on my blog.

No, I’m not cruel – this has happened before and as we can’t reach in there to pull her out, we let her figure it out herself. After sulking in there for a few minutes, she finally sucked it up and jumped out.
Of course, she then went straight to the laundry to poop.
Such a strange, crazy cat!

Puddy, hugging your scratcher is very sweet! I do the run around like a maniac thing right after I go to the litter box (but only if I do a number 2).
It’s elementary Watson:
Cats are weird.
Daisy – It’s good to know other cats also do the crazy running-around thing! Puddy seems to have it the wrong way around and goes crazy BEFORE the litter box … so weird!
The Bunns – I think that pretty much sums it all up!
[...] Katie and Puddy we are so very happy to hear from you! We missed you lots! Aehm, Katie! Puddy is no crazy at all. [...]
Thanks for being part of WCB this weekend!
Puddy we love you! You are not crazy at all
hugs and purrs alla us
Kashim, Othello and Salome – Thanks for hosting! We’re hoping to get around to all the participants today so we can leave some comments
PS – and she IS crazy!
I can reassure you Puddy is a very normal cat ! From my 5 two are playing racing cars too. Rosie runs and jumps like a lightening over the furniture through the whole house and makes noises like a dog who growls ! Then she attacks carpets and goes under them and put them all upside down. Pookie does the same but without growling. She was the first cat I saw doing it and also thought she was really not normal. But amongst my friends there are also cats who do the same. It’s so funny to watch, sometimes I think they are flying through the house ! And Rosie loves her scratching post too. The others prefer trees outside or a our carpets (grrrr) !
Too cute! Don’t worry, my cats are also crazy and act insanely! Soometimes, they drive me bananas… They are 14, but are as lively as 2 years old kitties!
Cheers,
Rosa
We think this behavior is completely normal! But what do we know, we are cats. Rosie is the only one who must run around like crazy every day, though. She also jumps on the sides of furniture and clings to it…sideways. Dad calls her spider-cat.
Gattina – Rosie seems like she has so much energy! And I love Arthur – he’s so peaceful and calm – they are complete opposites. I love seeing how many different ways Rosie can find to torment him!
Rosa – Wow, 14 year old kittens!
It’s crazy how cats seem to have an endless supply of energy, even after a hard day of … well, sleeping!
Country Cats – I would love to see a photo of Rosie clinging to the side of the furniture, that would be funny! But I hope she doesn’t scratch it!
Puddy, I’ve seen enough evidence to know that you are right up my alley. My nickname is Crazy Cat! I would like to invite you into my Silky and Slender Crew. We could hang out together and do crazy stuff. What do you think?
Purrs, Chilli
Chilli – That sounds like good fun! Thanks for inviting Puddy – she would love to hang out and do crazy stuff because that’s what she does best!
Great! It could take some time ’til the next post about the Silky & Slender Crew but you will be included! This is going to be fun!
Purrs, Chilli
Oh, do you have two pictures you would like me to use or can I just steal from your bloggie?
