P.E.B.C.A.K

For the past few days, I’ve been having some problems with my laptop’s power cord. It doesn’t seem to register that it’s plugged in, forcing my laptop to run on battery power, but when I lift the laptop up and put it on my lap, it suddenly flashes to life and starts charging. This seemed to keep it happy for a while, but then it started recognising the power cord on and off while I was trying to type and the sudden lightening and dimming of the screen started to drive me insane.

Holding it at particular angles seemed to work, but it was hard to keep it there and type at the same time. Bending the screen back and forward also helped, but the angle made it awkward for me to see.

I finally told Phill about it and asked him if he could check it out and see what was wrong. I figured it was a faulty power cord. Phill came over and inspected the cord where it connected with my laptop. He pushed it in and with a click, my laptop lit up and started charging.

“It wasn’t plugged in all the way,” he explained.

I absolutely fail at using technology.

That’s priceless. The good news is you don’t need your laptop serviced. Yea!

Brilliant!

Geez, I wish mine was such a simple fix! I think my charger is dodgy though.

Kathy – Yes, I agree! I was worrying about having to buy a new power cord, that would suck!

Adrina – It was a blonde moment … for three days!

Veronica – Oh no – hopefully they’re not too hard to find. Did you check to see if it’s fully plugged in? Just in case? :P

You just make this stuff up ….

Oh .. and I had to look up PEBCAK

Rabbits’ Guy – I wish I did, because that would mean I didn’t actually do this … but nope, it’s all true. I was so embarrassed. In my defence, he pushed it in rather hard so I thought it was already in properly!

I would totally do that.

Kelly – Glad I’m not alone (as embarrassing as it was!) :P
