The One in Which I Throw the Austar Remote in the Wheelie Bin
You know you’re tired when you spend literally half an hour looking for the remote control – under cushions, behind the cofa, upstairs, downstairs, in the kitchen … and you eventually find it in the wheelie bin outside.
Which begs the question – what the heck was it doing in the wheelie bin?!
It seems that in my cleaning frenzy (which didn’t really last that long) I swept up all the crap off the sofa and dumped it in the bin … without realising the remote was somewhere amongst it all. I didn’t notice it was missing for a while because I’ve been on my laptop doing work, with the television on low in the background, but when Gossip Girl came on at midday I reached for the remote … and thus began the searching and the frustration and the “BUT IT WAS JUST THERE!!” wails.
I think I need to shuffle back to bed.
PS – Yes, it does smell a little.
PPS – I’m adding this at 6:45pm – so far I’ve managed to drop and shatter a bottle of minced garlic on the kitchen floor, and smash a drinking glass on the sink. Phill has banned me from using a knife tonight.

You didn’t want to watch Gossip Girls???? We think Zoey and Goldie would LOVE that show!
The Bunns – Oh, I don’t mind Gossip Girl but I’d already seen the episode and wanted to see if there was something else on.
Hehehe, this post made me laugh! We lose our remotes all the time and I am considering sticking a bit of string to it and tying it to the sifa!
Everyone gets a clumsy day once in a while. Once, my study table fell over and Pete stepped on a thumb tack with his right foot and a stapler with his left! And once, I almost accidentally shredded our marriage certificate. It’s part of being human.
I think you have the right idea though! Stay in bed and wake up tomorrow for a brand new day!
Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done something like that!
As for the remote, you should see what happens when someone brings home a second one as a ’spare’. I live with two channel surfers – my mum played a trick on my dad by not telling him about the second remote and then randomly changing channels!
Adrina – The string idea is a very good idea! Accidentally nearly shredding your marriage certificate? That’s pretty bad!
Kelly – Haha the channel surfing sounds like fun – a bit of payback after having to sit with a “flicker” who constantly changes channels for no apparent reason!
