There a lot less ume trees in Japan than Sakura trees as well so you were lucky to catch some! Beautiful pics- I love the pink ones! It is such a wonderful season to spend in Japan and I am so sad to be missing it this year- living vivaciously through blogs like Blue Lotus. Some of the photos you have are actually of ume, or plum blossoms which bloom in February. I think that might be what you saw...(the first two pictures are definitely ume...I think....lol- I am not always good at telling the difference) Beautiful!!!
